“Enter The Dragon” is a 2018 Dragonfly 25 Sport, high performance trimaran. Dragonfly are made in Denmark to extremely high standards, and this is evident everywhere you look on the boat.
In 2018 she was delivered to the dealer in Sydney, Australia, as their demonstrator. Fitted with every option available from the factory, she was used for occasional press sails including this review by Boating New Zealand before being dry stored until sold to her first owner in 2020, here in Singapore.
There are 2 versions of the Dragonfly 25: the Touring and the Sport model. Enter The Dragon is a Sport model, one of the main differences being the taller (11.9m) carbon fibre mast and boom, and larger black polycarbonate sails.
The current owner has maintained her very well, repainting the antifoul in October 2023 with Coppercoat. The outboard (a Tohatsu 6hp four-stroke) was purchased new in January 2023 and was serviced in October 2023.
Standing rigging, running rigging, blocks, clutches and winches are all in excellent condition. The dyneema components of the standing rigging was replaced in October 2023, stainless steel stays inspected (still in good condition), and any running rigging replaced as required.
Dragonfly patented a “Swing-Wing” system which is used to very quickly and easily retract or extend the floats, enabling Enter The Dragon to be easily recovered onto the trailer, or simply berthed in a standard marina slip. Unlike other multihulls with retractable floats, the Swing-Wing system is really simple to use, takes less than one minute and is all done by small ropes with very little force needed.
In the surprisingly large cockpit you have easy access to the outboard, the copper-coated rudder, the 2020 Raymarine Axiom 7 and of course all the lines, making the 25 Sport very easy to sail single handed. With a self-tacking 12m2 jib, and 29m2 mainsail, she is easy to sail, picks up speed very quickly and can easily be de-powered when necessary. A large carbon fibre tiller extension means you can sit right out on the floats to comfortably balance the boat. Below the cockpit is a large lazarette with space for fuel tanks, anchors, mooring lines and more.
Below decks, the accommodation is light and airy, surprisingly large for a 25ft boat. The cleverly designed centreboard is offset to port, so lifts up under the port settee so does not intrude on cabin space. The large port and starboard settees join together with boards and filler cushions to make a very large double berth. The forward V berth is separated by a blind and has another 2 smaller berths and a Port Potti head (never been used) hidden under the berth. Further forward is a 40L bladder serving as the fresh water tank, connected to the intake above decks. Cabins are very light thanks to large windows on either side, and an opening hatch in the V berth. There is a decent size dinette table that you can fit either in the saloon or in the cockpit, which itself can be completely covered by the collapsible dodger, bimini and camper canvas.
Enter The Dragon is in excellent condition, she is ready to go to her new owner and can be shipped anywhere in the world. The original road trailer is still in excellent condition and is included in the sale.
